Frequently Asked Questions
about Sound Baths

What should I bring to a sound bath?

What you’ll need to bring can vary depending on the venue—some spaces provide mats and blankets, while others require you to bring your own. The most important thing is to ensure you're completely comfortable, as you’ll be lying down for around an hour, often on a hard floor.

You know your own unique comfort needs—bring whatever helps you feel supported and relaxed. Being well-prepared makes all the difference.
I recommend bringing:
-
A thick yoga mat (or even two, for extra cushioning)
-
Two blankets – one to lie on and one to cover yourself with
-
Two pillows or cushions – one for your head and one to place under your knees (this really helps support your lower back)
-
An eye mask (optional, but great if you’re light-sensitive or want to go deeper into relaxation)
Many of my regular attendees have chosen to invest in a tri-fold portable travel mat. These are easy to transport and make for a very comfortable experience, especially if you attend sound baths often.

What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can relax in easily—think soft layers, like you might wear for a gentle yoga class or lounging at home. Comfort is key! But whatever works for you is fine.

Can I eat before the session?

It’s best to eat something light about an hour before the session. A full stomach might make it harder to relax, while being too hungry can also be distracting. Try to find a comfortable middle ground.

Is this suitable if I'm pregnant?

Yes, sound baths can be a beautiful, nurturing experience during pregnancy, a time when we need that extra support. I don't advise soundbaths in the first trimester of pregnancy, but I do in the second and third trimesters. If you are attending while pregnant, please let me know so I can offer any necessary modifications for your comfort.

What if I’ve never been to a sound bath before?

No problem at all—beginners are very welcome! There’s nothing you need to know in advance. Simply come with an open mind and a willingness to relax. We’ll guide you through everything on the day.

Can children attend?

My regular public sessions are designed for adults and older teens, as they involve quiet stillness for an extended time. However, I can host family-friendly or children-specific sound baths—please be in touch if this is something that you would like to know more about.

I cannot lay down on the floor, can I still attend?

Absolutely! You are always welcome to bring along a reclining chair of your own or if the venue provides chairs, I can have one out ready for you. Whatever the need, we can find a way for you to enjoy a soundbath. I have regular attendee's who use chairs and they bring a neck cushion for comfort when resting during the soundbath.

I am quite nervous of what to expect, how can you support me?

I always take the time at the start of my sessions to explain all that you need to know and what to expect. If anyone needs to leave at anytime during the soundbath, they are free to do so. If you let me know, I will be there to give you extra guidance to support you and I can check in at the end. I am always keeping an eye on everyone attending. As an integral sound healing practitioner, I am trained to hold soundbaths in a safe and supportive way.
